| Initiation Mission Statement |
|
The mission of the Auburn Hockey Clubs Initiation program is to teach young children how to skate and enjoy being on the ice. All coaches are USA Hockey certified, and our goal is to teach children as young as 4 the joy of the game of hockey. This is accomplished in a fun laid back atmosphere, using basic drills and games that teach children how to skate while having fun doing so. Our focus is to keep children interested and wanting to come back each practice. Through our equipment rental program we will provide all equipment necessary except skates. The good news is when the season is over the $50.00 fee for equipment rental is refunded once the equipment is turned back into the club. Each child will receive a jersey that they can keep courtesy of Tim Horton’s. At this level no games are played until the last month of the season when the kids participate in cross ice games. Cross ice divides the ice surface into three small rinks. No score is kept and no rules are used except to have fun. Basically the Initiation program is geared towards skating proficiency and having fun. |
